Portrait & Headshots Photo Sessions
How to Prepare
Headshots are all about showing your audience the best version of yourself. In order to achieve this during our photo session, we recommend you choose outfits, hair and makeup that reflect your personality and the vision you have for the photographs. We highly recommend to hire our Glam and Grooming Team!
Clothing
- Bring different options to your Photoshoot (even if our goal is a one-look session).
- Make sure you feel comfortable in your outfit and your clothes fit you perfectly.
- Avoid patterns that can be distracting.
- Bring jewelry and accessories that are small and simple.
- If you use glasses, we will do photos with and without them so you can have multiple versions. Make sure they are clean!
- Keep your clothing within the neutral and solid colors (white, black, navy, brown, light blue, beige, etc.), but make sure you bring at least one colorful option just in case it pairs well with the location.
- Wear layers so you can take them off without having to go to a changing room.
- It’s good to have contrast between dark and light tones.
- In case we do full-body shots, make sure you bring pants and shoes that match your outfits.
Women's Outfit Examples
Elegant & Professional: Long-sleeved V-neck Shirt + Blazer.
Casual & Fun: V-neck T-shirt + Denim/Leather Jacket or a Cardigan
Men's Outfit Examples
Elegant & Professional: Suit + Button-down Shirt or Turtleneck Sweater + Tie (Optional).
Casual & Fun: T-shirt + Denim/Leather Jacket
*If you are wearing a button-down shirt without a tie for a more casual look, do not wear a crew neck under shirt as it will be visible.
Hair & Make Up
- Keep your make up natural and light and make emphasis on your eyes.
- For both men and women, we recommend having setting + blotting powder or paper in case we need to take away any face oil.
- Men: Make sure your beard is well groomed and styled
- Make sure you have your manicure on point. At the end of our session we like to play around with different poses that might show your hands!
Other Tips
- Make sure you have plenty of sleep the night before. Keep yourself and your skin hydrated!
- Optional: Bring props that fit with your profession!! (music scores, notebooks, camera, etc.)
